I started this thread so you telling me what the original point was is a bit odd. No? My point was that I saw some movement in the direction of better understanding on the part of some Senators.

Jeff's confusion is a classic example of how a policy of disinformation can make people believe things that are demonstrably false. A politician states a fact, then a reporter and/or an opponent misquotes the statement and turns it into a lie. The opponent repeats the lie ad nauseam until the lie is so familiar that it sounds like the truth. Or a politician tells lies, and supporters repeat the lies until the facts are obscured. This happened when Al Gore was misquoted.

There are plenty of Senators and Representatives who are computer literate, a few of whom are more than novices, or at least members of their staff are. Were it not for savvy US Representatives like physicist Rush Holt, the election fraud in 2000-2006--using proprietary software and also manipulated databases--might have taken even longer to surface for examination and important legislation.

Jeff - who do you think funded the research for the foundations of the Internet/ARPANET? Did you know that ARPANET was a DOD creation? Didn't you know that it was gummint funding for defense and university research?
