----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Contributing to the discussion of how wide the wheels, axles and the stub wings are, please have a look at http://www.hpo.net/users/sfanselow/m10/images/nowheels.jpg The picture is from the assembly of my M-10 after shipment to Japan about one year ago. You can clearly see that the stub wings are reaching well beyond the landing gear. However, with wheels mounted, the outside of the axles is the widest point. We had to remove the wheels when putting it into a container, otherwise it would have been too wide.
