+1 to the part that whatever the new flags are, their intent shall be clearly defined. There is no problem if the meaning doesn't match Debian's. We'd use there is out packaging helper, and we could learn it how to translate from META meaning to Debian meaning. The result is to be inspected by a human anyway. -- dam
