US TERRORISM IN BELARUS

Amazing revelations have been made by the British daily “The Times”, which
claims in an article on 2001.09.03 that the USA is following a policy in
Belarus along the same lines as the support given to the “Contras” in
Nicaragua in the 1980s.

The “Contras” (in Spanish, “against”) were armed forces backed by the USA
which fought the leftist Sandinista government in Nicaragua, in which 30,000
people died. The US Ambassador to Belarus is Michael Kozak, whose career,
upon examination, is interesting, to say the least.

He worked as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Inter-American Affairs
in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and Bush Senior, in Panama, Nicaragua
and El Salvador. It was while Mr. Kozak was stationed in Nicaragua that
President Ronald Reagan made his famous statement comparing the “Contras” to
the French Resistance fighters during the Second World War.

Mr. Kozak has declared recently that the United States’ “objective and to
some degree methodology are the same” in Belarus as they were in Nicaragua.
Washington itself admitted recently that the existence of state-sanctioned
death squads performing missions in Belarus was “credible” and two previous
state prosecutors, who sought and obtained political asylum status in the
United States of America, have since admitted that victims in Belarus are
killed with a special pistol and are buried in a cemetery in Minsk.

A spokesperson from the US Embassy in Minsk stated that the Embassy funds
some 300 non-Governmental organizations in the country, some of which were
linked to “seeking political change”, and admitted that funding was given to
non-state media.

The “Times” article itself calls President Lukashenko “a dictatorial
communist” but then goes on to admit that he is popular. This statement,
coupled with recent US moves in Eastern Europe, only prove one thing: that
there is still a powerful lobby in western circles which considers Eastern
Europe as a threat and that it is important to destabilise and gain control
of the area.

This explains the US policy in the Balkans(through NATO), and provides a
perfect foundation for the many links between the USA and the Albanians,
exposed and divulged by PRAVDA.Ru.
