No, that would, IMO, be of little benefit. People should be presented with the option of reading the README. If they don't want to, then they don't have to, but at least they will know that there is a README, and may even be able to figure out where it is. I don't think that the option of reading "README"s should ever be turned off, unless it's via a command line option. I'd rather annoy people with the prospect of documentation than casually turn it off because they decided once that they didn't want to see it. cgf
