Chris, The LD_LIBRARY_PATH, LD_RUN_PATH, and SHLIB_PATH are normally set to $ORACLE_HOME/lib or $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 for 32 bit database depend on where your lib files located. But from your first email, it set to the same value as $ORACLE_HOME. Change the settings and see if it's working.
