Got it! The 6/28/67 show is online now. :-) DS ________________________________ From: kevin <ke...@shallwego.net> To: 'David Sorochty' <skull_ro...@yahoo.com>; 'Dead Lists' <deadlists@nemesis.CS.Berkeley.EDU>; te...@goodbear.com Sent: Sunday, August 4, 2013 3:55 PM Subject: RE: Dead played in Oakland on 6-28-67.
Those are all valid names. Alameda County Coliseum Arena and Stadium are the two venues sitting next to each other – one inside, one outside. The Kaiser is in downtown Oakland. It was called the Oakland Auditorium until 1984. I had actually corrected all the mislabeled dates accordingly some time ago…. So, this show would be correctly labeled as Oakland Auditorium. This is another unlisted show I posted to the list on a while back that is not online. I am thoroughly confused on what the venuse should be called. There are at lease four different similar names used on DeadLists: http://www.deadlists.com/deadlists/browseby.asp?venue=240 http://www.deadlists.com/deadlists/browseby.asp?venue=363 http://www.deadlists.com/deadlists/browseby.asp?venue=365 http://www.deadlists.com/deadlists/browseby.asp?venue=366 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Dead played at the Oakland Auditorium on 6-28-67. This is another one Iver has the poster for, but the show is not listed anywhere. I found a newspaper article on it: http://users.erols.com/scarletfire/CA%20Oakland%20Tribune%201967-06-28%20NEW%20SHOW.jpg Teddy - what do you think of this below: Band Grateful Dead Venue Oakland Auditorium Location Oakland, CA Date 6/28/67 - Wednesday posters tickets, passes & laminates (posters to link to: "http://www.deadlists.com/posters/1960s/19670628a.html" Comments Sparrow is listed on the poster, but the Dead are listed on the cover of the program in their place. Also listed as playing were The Young Rascals, Grassroots, Country Joe and the Fish, and Sons of Champlain. A newspaper article published the day of the show (Oakland Tribune 6/28/67, pg 30) mentions all the bands as playing at the event.
