Sorry about this, with this kind of problem I normally completely wipe and reinstall, and this time I only reinstalled.
The fault appears to have involved a corrupted profile, and was cleared by complete removal, manual deletion of ~/.pan2 and reinstallation. No reason for corruption I can see, file properties of complete profile did not return any disc errors. Apologies again, Joe
