Hi, GNU Make now has a --shuffle option that simulates non-deterministic ordering of target prerequisites. See https://trofi.github.io/posts/238-new-make-shuffle-mode.html and also previous work in Debian by Santiago Vila: https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/make-shuffle/ This package fails to build with make --shuffle=reverse. This is likely to be caused by a missing dependency in debian/rules or an upstream Makefile. More information about this mass bug filing is available at https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS/Shuffle Relevant part (hopefully): > debian/rules binary > debian/rules:25: update target 'install' due to: target is .PHONY > dh_testdir > dh_prep -s > dh_prep: warning: Compatibility levels before 10 are deprecated (level 7 in > use) > dh_prep: warning: -s/--same-arch is deprecated; please use -a/--arch instead > dh_prep: warning: This feature will be removed in compat 12. > dh_installdirs -s > dh_installdirs: warning: Compatibility levels before 10 are deprecated (level > 7 in use) > dh_installdirs: warning: -s/--same-arch is deprecated; please use -a/--arch > instead > dh_installdirs: warning: This feature will be removed in compat 12. > /usr/bin/make DESTDIR=/build/reproducible-path/midish-1.0.4/debian/midish \ > DOC_DIR=/usr/share/doc/midish \ > EXAMPLES_DIR=/usr/share/doc/midish/examples \ > install > make[1]: Entering directory '/build/reproducible-path/midish-1.0.4' > make[1]: *** No rule to make target 'install'.
