Well - I reckon you're right that this is caused by some kind of change in the 
debian snmpd package, BUT - one could argue that the Debian JFFNMS package at 
least aught to be able to detect another Debian system :)

But I'll be quite OK if this bug is reassigned to snmpd.

Confirmed!  Exactly the same on all my Debian systems.
