Bad news. I just ran google earth and shortly after, while doing some aggressive window-swapping, it crashed with the usual symptoms. Note that while switching, metacity draws white borders around windows using probably the same technique as OSD. Without PageFlip, this seems to be stable. This is without any packages from experimental. I will try that some other time.
