No, because I didn't think they were bugs -- I thought that when a package I was installing recommended another that it meant I should consider whether I wanted to use these other packages too. Often the answer was "no". Sometimes it was "yes" and I appreciated the recommendation. And aptitude didn't automatically install them without first giving me a chance to say "yes". So this seems like a change in the meaning of "recommends" to me, although I admit it may just be an end to my misunderstanding. So making the meaning of "recommends" crystal clear is a good idea.
