I asked on [EMAIL PROTECTED]: see http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/libstdc++/2002-11/msg00116.html Benjamin Kosnick answered: >Is there a backport for 3.0 of the patches needed to bootstrap >gcc-3.0.4 on a glibc-2.3 based system? Or pointers to the patches? I don't know of any backport. The 3.2.1 release will be the first to bootstrap without patches on glibc-2.3 systems. so either port it (who?) or leave the last version (or build it on a testing system (build the lib only) and move it to unstable).
