Hi Matthias,
Browsing my /etc/alternatives on an system that was installed long ago
(and is now using an up to date unstable), I found a broken alternative
for f77 -> /usr/bin/g77. As I haven't seen anything on gcc-defaults
about this, I'm filing this bug, to see if you can add some code to
correctly remove this broken alternative from old systems.

This is not a bug. the g77 package provides the f77 alternative as
does gcc provides cc.
