Errr, could you explain how automatically closing bugs is *less* controversial? It makes a great impression if you file a bug and you get an answer saying "Oh, I don't care, this is not my bug, go file it somewhere else, oh, and by the way, I didn't look at the problem, I just close all bugs I get". *Great* idea!
