I have a ASUS A7V100 board and my drive is connected to the PDC ATA100 controller (hde). To boot from that I had to give these settings to lilo boot=/dev/hde # Specifies the device that should be mounted as root. (`/') # root=/dev/hde3 disk=/dev/hde bios=0x80 I also have a custom compiled kernel. Please mail me if you require my config raj
