To prevent non-admin user from changing xorg.conf setting, I tried the following:
- go to System -> Administration -> Authorizations - From the left menu, go to com->ubuntu->screenresolution->mechanism->Change Screen Resolution - Click Edit, set Active Console to "Admin Authentication" Or modify the default from /usr/share/PolicyKit/policy/screenresolution- mechanism.policy By doing so, only admin user can change the xorg.conf setting. -- Continuously resolution change without closing the Display Preferences UI, user will be asked to set Virtual Display https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/372547 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
