Confession that I didn't notice the checkbox in front of the grayed out
font option.

I created a new profile by pressing the + sign. It does seem to work
better if I "clone" a profile I've discovered.

However with the colours there still seems to be a problem whatever I
do with the checkboxes.

If I go to the "colors" tab I get the first picture (after selecting
custom in both drop-downs)

If I click on "default background" I get the second picture.

If I click on (say) the light green I get the third picture.

But then if I click on "select" it just goes back to the second picture
and I have to get out of it by pressing "cancel". It's the same if
explicitly type in an RGB value or if I click somewhere in the rectangle
first.

Same story with foreground / cursor foreground background etc.

If it's a "cloned" one I do seem to find it works eventually but I might
have to do it a few times before it digests it.
