Hello Britta,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2010 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 541742

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

Title:
When attempting to reply to a mail, the recipient's address does not
show in the 'to field'. When attempting to compose a new mail it is
not possible to write or copy the reciepient's address in the to
  field. No cursor.

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

  thunderbird:

On using 'reply to', the screen that pops up does include the quoted text,
but not the recipient's address. I have set up Thunderbird to automatically add
a BCC address. This field is blank too. Clicking the 'to' field will not let me
add the address manually, as there is no cursor.
The same things happens when I want to compose a new mail. No cursor in the
'to' field. This means I cannot send a mail.

  Kind regards,
  Britta
