Jacopo Cappellato commented on OFBIZ-5389:
------------------------------------------

Hi Christian,

thank you for the detailed analysis, it helps indeed.
This week I am traveling but I will work on this issue as soon as I will be
back.
In the meantime, it would be great if you could try to apply the following
change:

Index: specialpurpose/lucene/src/org/ofbiz/content/search/ProductDocument.java

         String productId = getDocumentIdentifier().text();
         try {
-            GenericValue product = delegator.findOne("Product", true,
"productId", productId);
+            GenericValue product = delegator.findOne("Product", false,
"productId", productId);
             if (product == null) {
                 // Return a null document (we will remove the document from
the index)
                 return null;

Does disabling the cache lookup fix the issue?

Thanks
Jacopo

> A "Problems getting the product entity" error occurs when adding a newly
> created "Variant Tree Generation" virtual product is added to a purchase
> order.
> The feature selections are not rendered because the variant products list is
> created from cache in which the newly created product hasn't yet been added.
> Cache searches seem somewhat ubiquitous throughout the purchase orders. Does
> anyone know if this was intentional for some reason which would require the
> user to clear cache before the new products register for use?
