That's exactly the point! One reason why I use ubase in my initramfs is that it doesn't fuck around with this crap. If you want to be in complete control of your system, shell-files aren't the way to go, given you depend on a shell-implementation, which itself might invoke dynamic dependencies and other quirks. I'm all for a directory named ideas/ including working shell-scripts of design-ideas, which can then be implemented as C-programs later on.
