Thanks for the information -- this looks a lot better than the current logic and so a huge thanks for driving this. One more question: Would you be against me adding (translated) metainfo files to each of the langpack subpackages? This would allow me to add support in GNOME Software very easily without any hacky code. I'm happy doing the work if this sounds acceptable to you.
