I'll clarify that slightly. I believe all _external_ services which
required username/password authentication must be disabled until
explicitly enabled. For example, IMAP and POP should be enabled, but
only for the local LAN. Similarly, webmail requires username/password
authentication on the external interface (possibly under cover of
SSL), and so should be disabled by default.

OK - my time for devil's advocate. Given that the total install is
less than 500Mb, I'm not sure that saving disk space is a real issue
these days. Have yuou tried to buy a <8GB disk (or is that <12GB)
recently? :-)
