I have selected the method described at the Linux-HA.org site. In reading the getting started guide (http://linux-ha.org/download/GettingStarted.html) I found the following note: NOTE: If you can't bring up the service IP address and you get ha-log entries similar to this: SIOCSIFADDR: No such device SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device SIOCADDRT: No such device It may mean that you need to enable IP aliasing in your kernel build. Check /usr/src/linux/.config for "CONFIG_IP_ALIAS=y" if you don't have it, you'll have the line "CONFIG_IP_ALIAS is not set". Rebuild your kernel with IP aliasing enabled. My question to the development staff is, is IP aliasing enabled? I have compared about 6 different packages, and this one has the most straight-forward looking setup as well as an rpm built and ready to use, but I am hoping to not to have to rebuild if I don't have to as I am looking at a minimum of 3 machines in the test cluster.
