Yes, that is much clearer however you did not mention
if everything is fine at the NT server.  If your IP
configuration is correct the NT server should have full
Internet access via the e-smith gateway.  Does it?

Basically the steps in troubleshooting are make sure the
NT server can access the Internet out the e-smith gateway.

Then make sure the NT server is routing the two LAN
segments correctly.  Review the output of 'route print'.

Finally check the workstations are getting full Internet
access routed via the NT server and out the e-smith gateway.
