Exactly.  I was hoping there was some 'magic' command like:

{
TEXTOUT .= <<HERE
all perl code between these markers output as untouched text
HERE
}

Is there really nothing like this?  I'm only at chapter 7 in my Perl for
Dummies book.  Must learn to read faster :-)
