Before anyone spends too much more time on this I would recommend testing it on a stock RedHat 7.1 box first. I have been using Ntop for quite a while and it has never been stable on RedHat (up until December still anyways). It tends to crash while browsing the internal web server.
I ended up compiling it on OpenBSD and it runs perfectly.
