Thanks again to all, It seems that Register.com's accounting system is not tied in any way to their domain registration system, according to an email I just received about 10 minutes ago.
Go figure! If you renew only 3 weeks before the renewal is due, they don't bother to inform anyone and 3 months after you pay your money, and two months after the original expiration date, without warning, they drop you like a rock. This makes sense to someone at Register.com, but it makes no sense to me. The worst thing is that it took them 4 full days (2 business days) to figure this out. A word to the wise... Find somebody else to register your domain name, I know I will :-) I expect to have to renew a few mailing lists within 48 hours or so. Now to call a few customers... Regards, and Thanks...
