Ann Taylor is looking for a senior user-interaction designer to lead an IxD team on several related projects for the Design and Global Sourcing divisions. This position will establish a design vision for the applications with standards and guidelines for the IxD team. Responsibilities include all aspects of user-interaction design, including user profiling, navigation modeling, wire framing, storyboarding, and functional specifications as well as supervision of UI graphic design to ensure a consistent, effective user experience.
Key partners on the extended project team include business analysts and application architects. The business users include fashion designers, technical designers, product developers, colorist, production managers, and QA inspectors. Applicant should have at least 5 years of relevant experience. Experience in IxD for business applications with Windows clients is preferred, although browser-only design experience will be considered if the background includes strong accomplishments leading teams in complex, data-rich interaction design. The job is a contracted position but will provide steady work for one to two years and requires high availability. The project team will be centered in New York City, and the work might include some travel overseas.
