Yes, there are Windows, Mac and Flex UI components in the common library.
What I've done is drag them into a blank document, use the Edit Symbol
command, make the changes in the symbol editor, then use the Convert to
Symbol command and put it in a new folder. That way the original remains,
but I have my modified symbol. If you don't rename any layers you can copy
the .JSF file into your directory and you'll be able to set the properties
the way you would with the original.
While you're in the symbol editor you can apply some texture to the shapes
to make them look "sketchy".
