There's also the Linksys WMB54G. Nearly every networking equipment maker has one now.
Really a lot of these products have all the functionality of A Really Long Audio Cable (tm). Some are a bit more advanced than others but almost all here would agree none of them match the sound quality and flexibility of the Squeezebox. There's a reason the Squeezebox costs what it does. Going upmarket there's Sonos and Olive Musica, but if you think the Squeezebox is expensive wait until you see those things. Then you will appreciate how economical the Squeezebox actually is...Note neither one will be audibly superior than the Squeezebox. Sonos has a great remote, is very robust and ideal for multiroom setups but has a very closed, inflexible architecture. Until recently, you couldn't even use your own amplifier. The Olive Musica is just like putting everything in a single box and marking it up substantially. You get an underperforming, specialized PC and a smallish hard drive that can't be upgraded, all for a substantial premium. Also very closed and inflexible. -- Mark Lanctot ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24278 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
