Hi All,

I hope job openings are acceptable on this list. I can't see anything
to suggest they aren't.

Arts Alliance Media (http://www.artsalliancemedia.com) are seeking
experienced and highly talented python web developers to join the
team responsible for Newman, our box office and cinema operations
system.

Your main responsibilities will be for the customer facing Web Sales
and the administrative Back Office components of Newman. These are
web apps written using an early version of CherryPy. As well as
developing features and fixing bugs, part of your job will be to
oversee the transition of these applications into using a more modern
and maintainable framework.

There will also be the opportunity to contribute to the other
applications in the system. This includes the XML-RPC application
servers, the wxPython based Point of Sale and ATM, the Voice-XML
phone booking system and several other Python based applications.

You will be working on a highly distributed, mission critical system
so we are particularly interested in developers who have previously
used Python to develop high reliability systems or who have delivered
commercial software using Python. If you think you're up to the
challenge of contributing to a Python system which handles millions
of transactions worth tens of millions of pounds every year, then
this is the job for you.

Requirements:
      * Extremely strong analytical and software engineering skills.
      * Excellent Python skills
      * Demonstrated ability to create significant Python web
applications
      * Client-side scripting using Javascript and AJAX techniques
      * Strong knowledge of SQL and experience of developing database
driven applications
      * Experience developing software applications for the retail or
cinema industry a bonus.
      * The ideal candidate will also have a passion for cinema.

This is a permanent position based at our London offices. If you are
interested please forward your CV and a covering letter to:
