I am working on using the DataSift api to collect social media posts as
part of my project.
I have a page which lists defined searches, and I want to be able to start
searches from here, and stop them when the user no longer requires them -
that is, the search should continue until it is stopped, even if the user
who has started it logs out - in fact, it will be most useful if it runs
continuously for more than a week.
I believe this needs an asynchronous task manager; would Celery be
appropriate for this task, both for starting and stopping the process? And
secondly, can I set up and use Celery on Windows7 (which I am using for
development)? Is there anything else that would be more appropriate?
Cheers, N//
