Anti-fur demonstrators arrested SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Eight people were arrested Friday after climbing a building in Union Square as part of an anti-fur protest. The demonstrators were arrested at 4 a.m. for investigation of criminal conspiracy, said police Sgt. John Haggett. Other activists with the Marin County In Defense of Animals spent the day peacefully protesting fur sales in the city's shopping district. Anti-fur demonstrations in other cities led to several arrests Friday. Eleven people were arrested at San Diego's Fashion Valley Mall, 10 at Dayton's Department Store in Minneapolis, six at fur stores in New Jersey, six in Atlanta, five in Salt Lake City, three in Dallas and two in New York and Washington, D.C. ###
