Britain to get national women's library

Britain is to have a National Library for Women to celebrate the rise of =
feminism and the contribution of women to society. The library was =
launched Tuesday with a 4.2 million pound (US$6.9 million) grant from =
Britain's national lottery in what some commentators saw as an expensive =
gesture to political correctness. The library will be housed in Aldgate, =
in east London, and will contain material on the suffragette campaign at =
the turn of the century to win the right of women to vote as well as =
first editions of works by influential women writers such as Mary =
Wollstonecraft (Reuters)
