Rice Academy Post Doctoral Fellow Position

$150 million investment in research initiatives to advance this mission, 
Rice University is pleased to announce and invite applications for the 
Rice Academy Postdoctoral Fellows Program.

The 2019 competition is open to all research areas. The two-year Rice 
Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships are open to exceptional scholars who 
have recently earned the doctoral degree in any area, including 
medicine, and who want to pursue research with faculty at Rice 
University. Applications are particularly welcome from those who are 
interested in interdisciplinary approaches to scholarship. The 
Fellowship term will begin on September 1, 2019.

Several of the past Fellows have been hosted in the Ecology and 
Evolutionary Graduate Program, working on variety of projects that 
ranged from social structure and disease dynamics to Environmental DNA 
development and are now holding Tenure track faculty position at top US 
Universities.

Your research proposal, curriculum vitae, and your sample publication

The sample publication or other work of scholarship will be accepted 
through the “Writing Sample” upload. 


Please provide the names of two Rice University faculty member with whom 
you would like to work (to be included in the answer of to the 
supplemental question on the application).  All applicants are asked to 
contact their prospective mentors to seek their support both as a mentor 
as well as for salary support (1/3 of the fellowship, or $20,000 
annually).  This letter of support should be obtained in advance of 
submitting the final application and should be uploaded to the 
application in the "Letter of Support" section.

All applications for the 2019 competition are due January 3, 2019.  

Three letter of recommendations are due on or before January 6, 2019.  
After submitting your application, emails will be sent to your listed 
references and they will personally submit their letters of 
recommendation through the RICEWorks system.

The Rice Academy Senior Fellows will begin application reviews as early 
as November 1, 2018.  All applications for the 2019 competition are due 
January 3, 2019.
