It is important to separate mapping support and system support.
These EDI support people are usually very good at mapping questions. Why
not, mapping is fairly straight forward.
However, system support which includes non-mapping issues like scripting and
OS, is a different beast.
A product like Sterling's Gentran:Server for UNIX with EC Workbench, is more
complex and requires a higher level of support.
The best attribute of their product is that the system is all UNIX script
based. This means we may modify it, grep it, sed it, awk it, whatever.
We have complete versatility. For those of us who are true UNIX scripters,
that makes their product easy to use.

I think it is outstanding. We are new to the EXTOL product having switched
from Harbinger's TrustedLink 400. All the people are very friendly,
knowledgeable and helpful. They are very experienced creating maps and
working with trading partners. I've never had to wait on hold.
