Cloud is different then past iterations IMO.  It offers translation and
communication, but it also offers advanced scaling
(active-active-active-etc) and DR (disaster recovery) strategies in a
a-la-carte fashion.  Amazon's approach to these two things is built right
into their base virtual machines that we put our software on.  To me, cloud
computing is vitalization on steroids.  If you've used VMware, you know how
amazing it can be.  .

For small and mid-size business it's huge.  The cool thing about the Cloud
is every little consultant shop can be in the cloud by getting a single
instance of an Amazon box.
