Just because a new technology or business model comes along - eg, "the
cloud" or "outsourced services" - does not mean it is automatically wise
to replace something which works.

Unless you can prove there is a net benefit to doing so, you've already paid
for what you have, so why change it?

"Change for the sake of change" makes about as much (actually, "as little")
sense to me as does "we do it this way because we've always done it that
way." See also: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

IMO the better question to ask re "new stuff" is asking if this new
technology/service can make economic sense for firms to ADD a capability,
when with prior technology it just didn't.
