Okay, this looks like the best option.  It still only solves half
the problem, as it doesn't track Adrian's changes.  Worse,
keeping up with Emacs.app updates requires either unpatch-pray-
patch jiggery-pokery or maintaining a vendor branch, and
discourages local changes to NS-specific files.  I'll refresh my
memory on vendor branches, and post a recipe here if they are
relatively painless.

I hadn't tried this, but it has the same problem as above.
