well this is where you come to the question of "make just 1 widget that has
218902 features or make a whole bunch of widgets that share a lot of core".
notepad is both an example and a useful widget for an app that wants to quickly
put up a "edit this small text file" into its ui without having to handle the
save and load bits - just point to the file and let the user have at it. thus
it's in elc - not elm.
