Since the first of the year, I have been comparing the file sizes of three E-mail programs: Entourage X - Eudora 5.22 (X) - and Jaguar 10.2.3 Mail
For the most part, all three programs have the exact same message contents as far as I can tell. Since 1/1/03, I have collected a total of 11,500 messages (all list servers - no attachments) in each of the three duplicate mail folders. The results are as follows: Total messages = 11,500 Microsoft entourage X ( after rebuild) 45 meg Eudora 5.22 35 meg Jaguar 10.2.3 Mail 41 meg As you can see, they're all not too far off from each other ( within 10 MB). Although Eudora is a smaller file size than the other two programs, it is not nearly as small a size as I was hoping it would be (... I was hoping that it would be 10 or 15 MB as opposed to 35 MB). It seems as though a few years ago Eudora mail box sizes were far smaller than the competitors. As you can see, this is no longer the case... * OT: although Eudora searches are many, many times faster than entourage, entourage has some great calendar and task features that Eudora doesn't have... * of course, I would be very interested in hearing any other comparisons related to these three programs. -- RevDave [EMAIL PROTECTED] [db-lists] Check out some great Domain Names at: http://www.domains4days.com -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.letterrip.com/> old-archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
