Simple scripting?

Did you mean "easy" (in which case, I would agree) or "basic, not much, a
little bit"?  (In which case I would disagree ;)

FM has an extensive dictionary for interacting with data objects (files,
layouts, records, fields) and with design objects (layouts, value lists,
relationships, etc.)

All of these are available via AppleScript and most are available inside
FM's own scripting engine, called "Script Maker".  You can also execute
named internal scripts from AS, using the common "do script" command.
