Hi,
I posted a question about this bug on this list but did not get any response ("Entourage '04 AppleScript attachment problems" on May 21 2004). This a is a problem with Entourage 2004 handling Apple Events/Apple Scripts. Since I posted that message several people emailed me as they found the post while searching google for a solution to PlayerPro corrupted attachment. Unfortunately it seems there is no workaround. The bug shows when you try to e-mail pictures from iPhoto, send PDFs from Adobe Reader or try to use EntourageTemplate with attachments.
All those programs try to send an AppleScript command to Entourage 2004 to create a new message with attachment.
Sample script to demonstrate this problem is:
tell application "Microsoft Entourage"
set newMessage to make new outgoing message
make new attachment at newMessage with properties {file:("Macintosh HD:Users:tom:Desktop:sample.pdf") as alias}
end tell
Any word from MS developers?
Regards, Tom Abracode http://www.abracode.com/EntourageTemplate/
I'm having the same problems with Entourage and iPhoto that have been
reported elsewhere: when I try to send a photo via Entourage, the attachment
is listed as a "PlayerPro" document with a size of 0.
I've tested the integrity of my Entourage database, and the Database Utility
reports that it's fine.
Are there any known solutions to this?
