I am having the same problem described on 6/24/04 by Barry:
...I tried to reinstall Microsoft handheld sync and it failed because "Microsoft Component Plugin could not be found" even though it's right there in the Office folder where Microsoft put it.
Paul helped with this:
Wrong one. I think you're messing about with the X conduit, which is looking for a 10.1.x version of the component plugin. As soon as you install the 2004 version it will be happy with the 11.0.0 version of the plugin.
Paul, others, I have installed Office 2004 and the Microsoft Component Plugin is version 11.0.0 (in the Microsoft Office:Office folder where the installer put it) but I am still having the problem described above. I'm trying to install Microsoft Handheld Synchronization for Microsoft Entourage X. Any ideas? Is there a sync engine for Entourage 2004 now?
