His SMTP address should have automatically been created on the new server when you made the new mailbox, but maybe it wasn't created correctly. For instance, if the directory change reflecting the deletion of his smtp address on Exchange1 hadn't replicated to Exchange2 yet when you created the new mailbox, then the smtp address probably came out as something like [EMAIL PROTECTED]
