Course in India Scheduled for February/March After a hiatus due to unsafe conditions internationally, the University's study abroad program is being revived, with a course in India scheduled for February and March. The course will focus on Maharishi Vedic Science(SM), and students will tour the sites made famous by University Founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi because of his activities there. The itinerary includes Mumbai, Kovalam, Trivandrum, Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Vararnasi, Allahabad, Jabalpur, Brahmasthan, Agra (Taj Mahal), Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Delhi. "This is the opportunity of a lifetime to see Maharishi's India, Vedic India," said Chris Jones, one of the teachers of the course. The group will travel under the auspices of the Indian Transcendental Meditation program movement. They will meet with students from the schools in India established by Maharishi, listen to Vedic chanting, and visit holy sites and locations where Maharishi was active. "There is no better way to see India than with a group of sidhas and meditators traveling together, doing program together, and studying Maharishi Vedic Science in India," Dr. Jones said. The course will span the Forest Academy and Block 6. The section for men will be abroad Sunday, February 1-Monday, March 9. The section for ladies and couples will be abroad Thursday, February 5-Friday, March 13. The cost will be $3,200, not including airfare. The cost for students paying full room and board for spring semester will be $2,950. Airfare will be approximately $1,500. In addition, for non-M.U.M. students there will be a tuition fee of $1,750 ($750 for alumni). A 50% deposit will be due by November 7 and the balance by January 15.
