One issue that I know about is that the sodan site uses Xcode 3.1.1, possibly because of Apple's removal of .la files from its X11 as of Xcode 3.1.2; so any packages that use 3.1.2 won't be there, such as gcc44. The sage site doesn't have quite as many packages, since it's focused toward math and science packages rather than being general; however, I think it uses Xcode 3.1.2, and therefore gcc44 is available.
