Absolutely! I should have anyway. Here's the MacOSXHints http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20031106151631171 Here's one for Apple's UNIX list: http://discussions.info.apple.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.599c426d In that one I give some wrong information. I didn't know at the time that XDarwin wasn't working. This isn't the only example on Apple's list. A number of people have installed X11 with Panther without removing XFree86. However, it's the intentional ones that concern me. On the other hand, in the MacOSXHints example, XDarwin (and I gather XFree86) was the last thing installed and it does run on Panther so maybe there's some clues that would help with XFree86 and Panther. When XFree86 is last installed, it must not step on the part of Apple's X11 that gets the keyboard layout from Panther's new /System/Library/Keyboard Layouts files. -- Gary Kerbaugh [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A computer scientist is someone who, when told to "Go to Hell", sees the "go to", rather than the destination, as harmful. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.
