Thanks, it's a partially known issue. dclib0 as present in version
0.3.5-2 needs automake1.7=1.7.6 to build (which is in stable; 1.7.9 is
in unstable). It had to depend on a fixed %r to get around the version
difference, but the stable automake1.7 %r was increased w/out fixing the
%r in dclib0.
There's a package in trackers[1] that removes the automake dependency
and upgrades both dclib0 and valknut from 0.3.5 to 0.3.7. However,
there's a nasty bug (that's also in 0.3.5 but has gone unnoticed since
checkin) that makes valknut take down all of X11/xfree/xorg when using
rootless w/ any window manager besides quartz-wm (tested with twm and
blackbox).
I'm cc'ing fink-devel to bring that to attention there to see if anyone
has any suggestions on what to do, either to help solve the crash, or
decide what to do with the package as is. AKH initially brought this to
my attention, but I have no idea on what can be done. The tracker item
has a pretty good explanation with more detail (posts from 2006-01-20
forward). I can also attach the Xquartz crashlog, but that'll have to
wait until tomorrow.
